Why Confidia Converted to a Private Company

In 2026, Confidia completed an important change to its corporate structure, converting from Confidia Limited to Confidia Pty Ltd.

The change reflects the evolution of Confidia and provides a corporate structure that is better aligned with the company's current size, operations and long-term direction.

While the company name and structure have changed, Confidia's commitment to its customers, partners, technology, governance and regulatory responsibilities remains unchanged.

Why Confidia Was Originally a Public Company

When Confidia was incorporated in May 2020, it was established as an Australian public company limited by shares.

At that stage of the company's development, the public company structure provided flexibility for potential future capital raising and reflected the ambitious scope of the technology and services being developed.

Confidia was never listed on a stock exchange and did not conduct an initial public offering. As the company developed, it became increasingly clear that a proprietary limited company structure was more appropriate for its current ownership, operational requirements and future plans.

Aligning Our Corporate Structure With Our Business

Corporate structures need to evolve as businesses evolve.

For Confidia, the decision to convert to a proprietary limited company followed a review of how the organisation operates today and the structure best suited to support its next stage of development.

The change provides a more appropriate framework for a privately held Australian technology company while allowing the business to maintain strong corporate governance and regulatory oversight.

The conversion enables Confidia to focus on four key areas.

Greater Governance Efficiency

A corporate structure should provide effective oversight while remaining appropriate for the size and nature of the organisation.

Operating as Confidia Pty Ltd allows the company to maintain clear governance, accountability and management controls within a structure that more closely reflects the organisation as it operates today.

Stronger Operational Focus

The change allows management to maintain greater focus on the day-to-day operation and development of the business.

Confidia operates in a rapidly changing technology and payments environment. Maintaining an efficient organisational structure allows the company to respond effectively to operational requirements, customer needs and changes within the Australian payments landscape.

Continued Investment in Product Development

Technology remains at the centre of Confidia's business.

Our platforms and systems require continued investment in software development, security, infrastructure, automation and integration with Australia's evolving payment ecosystem.

An appropriately structured organisation allows Confidia to direct its resources toward improving its technology, developing new capabilities and strengthening the reliability and performance of its platforms.

Continued Regulatory and Compliance Focus

Becoming a proprietary limited company does not change Confidia's commitment to compliance, governance or its regulatory obligations.

Confidia continues to operate within the applicable Australian legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to its activities and maintains policies, controls and processes designed to support responsible business operations.

The change in corporate structure is intended to make the organisation more efficient. It does not reduce the importance we place on governance, compliance, security or our responsibilities to customers and business partners.

What the Change Means for Customers and Partners

For customers and partners, there is very little practical change.

Confidia continues to operate under the same:

  • ACN: 641 060 782
  • ABN: 65 641 060 782

Existing business relationships, systems, products and operational commitments continue under Confidia Pty Ltd.

The principal change is that the company's legal structure now more accurately reflects the organisation it has become.

Building for the Next Stage

Confidia continues to invest in the development of its technology platforms and the integration of modern Australian payment capabilities.

The Australian payments environment continues to evolve through technologies including BPAY, the New Payments Platform, PayID and PayTo. At the same time, businesses increasingly expect payment and transaction systems to be more integrated, automated and responsive.

Confidia's focus is on continuing to develop technology that can operate effectively within this changing environment while maintaining appropriate governance, security and compliance standards.

The conversion to Confidia Pty Ltd provides a corporate structure that better supports that objective.

It represents the next stage in Confidia's development: a more focused operating structure, continued investment in technology, strong governance and a clear commitment to building reliable Australian payment and transaction management systems.
